Garden Wellbeing Days
Nature-based team experiences that support our community therapeutic gardening programme
About Us
Our community garden is a welcoming green space where people can connect with nature, learn new skills and spend time together outdoors. As a Community Interest Company, everything we do supports the wellbeing of our local community.
We run Social Therapeutic Gardening sessions for people living with physical and mental health challenges. These sessions provide a supportive environment where participants can enjoy gardening activities, fresh air and social connection, helping to build confidence and improve wellbeing.

We also offer group experiences for schools, colleges, community organisations and corporate teams. Visits can include hands-on gardening, cooking with fresh ingredients, nature activities and seasonal projects that help people understand where food comes from and reconnect with the natural world. Corporate groups often join us for team-building days that combine practical activities with time outdoors.
Our site is also a hub for local collaboration. We coordinate the Nottinghamshire Community Garden Network, supporting community gardens across the county to share ideas and best practice. The garden is also home to other community initiatives too. Sherwood Forest Trust run a tree nursery from our site, and we host a range of local groups and activities, including wood carving.
Visitors can also discover the produce grown here. We sell a range of jams, chutneys and honey made from ingredients grown on site, including honey from our own hives.

A Different Kind of Team Day
Our group experiences offer a chance for teams to step away from the workplace and spend meaningful time outdoors.
Rather than a typical corporate away day, the focus is on slowing down, connecting with nature, and learning practical skills around food, growing, and wellbeing. Groups can spend restorative time in nature, learn practical skills around growing and cooking food, explore healthy eating and gut health and strengthen team connection in a calm outdoor environment.
These days are suitable for organisations who value sustainability, wellbeing, and community impact. Income generated from these activities directly supports our charitable community programmes, helping us continue providing therapeutic gardening sessions for people with mental and physical challenges.
What the Day Might Include
Activities vary depending on the season, but may include:
• Gentle gardening activities in the therapeutic garden
• Harvesting seasonal produce
• Cooking together using ingredients from the garden
• Workshops on healthy eating and gut health
• Conversations about sustainable food and nature connection
• Shared outdoor meals and reflection time
The emphasis is on learning, wellbeing, and enjoying time in nature together.
Supporting the Community
Participation fees from corporate wellbeing days help us continue offering therapeutic gardening sessions for people in the local community who benefit from access to nature and supportive outdoor activities. Your team's day in the garden directly contributes to this work.

Group Size
To maintain the calm and supportive nature of the garden, we host small groups only. Typical group size: 6–15 participants
Membership. Participants are welcomed as temporary members of the Community Interest Company for the day, allowing them to take part in activities within the garden.
